José E. Calzada Rovirosa has been the governor of the state of Queretaro since October 1, 2009.
Prior to this assignment, Joseph E. Calzada Rovirosa Querétaro was senator from 2006-2009 as part of the Institutional Revolutionary party. He was adviser for fisheries and the environment at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States, central manager customs planning in the Ministry of Finance, the collector of customs in Tijuana, Baja, California and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Prior, he was chief executive officer of the federal secretary of labor and social welfare in the state of Queretaro.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Universidad Nuevo Mundo and has a master’s in business administration from the University of New Mexico.
